Determination of normal range of thyroid uptake for Technetium-99m in Turkish population

Aim: This study aimed to determine the normal range for thyroid uptake of technetium-99m (99mTc) pertechnetate in a Turkish population.Methods: The retrospective included 73 (54 females, 19 males) consecutive euthyroid patients, all whom underwent scintigraphy using 99mTc-pertechnetate as component parathyroid adenoma localization. value at 20th minute was calculated each patient.Results: mean patient age 56.4±15.2 years; thyroid-stimulating hormone level 1.15±0.48 uIU/mL. median and interquartile values were 0.8% 0.56–1.15%, respectively. determined be 0.26–1.64%.
